Francis Corby Ceschin is a filmmaker and cinematographer working between fiction and documentary.
Born in Brazil and raised in the United States, his work centers on character-driven stories shaped through long-term observation and close collaboration with non-actors. This process results in films that blur the line between fiction and reality, combining naturalistic performances with carefully composed images and a dry, often dark sense of humor.
In addition to his filmmaking practice, Francis is an adjunct professor at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where he teaches film production and works closely with emerging filmmakers on directing, cinematography, and storytelling beyond conventional industry models.
He is currently developing several feature-length projects in Brazil and the U.S., including long-form docu-fiction works exploring family, power, migration, and contemporary social contradictions.
His work also extends into conceptual projects beyond cinema. He is the creator of OLD BALD MEN, the world's first clothing line designed for bald and balding people, conceived as an extension of an ongoing science-fiction comedy universe currently in development— tonally situated somewhere between Black Mirror, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Futurama.
Francis is interested in collaborations that value patience, trust, and risk.
